I haven’t posted much of anything here in days, and I am still getting new followers
I appreciate that. Truly. Thanks for stopping by and choosing to follow, even if it for a brief fleeting moment.
And speaking of brief and fleeting, aren’t all moments just that? Here today.. gone tomorrow? And sometimes so fast that you don’t even remember if they happened or if it was some vivid dream during a warm midsummer’s night?
Ohh… time.. don’t let it slip away? Sorry. It did.. A long time ago.
Nonetheless, welcome newbies.

One more creepy thing: My dream
I had a strange one last night.. the earth changed direction, or .. something.. It was 11:30 at night and it was still sunny outside. From my relocation of why, time itself had apparently changed because the rotation speed around the sun altered—but our clocks on earth were set to be the way they were. I then remember suddenly not seeing the moon and we were placed into a faster course. I think maybe this has something to do with my near tragic elevator issue from yesterday.
-
At the moment of impact
I will save the gory details, but I’ll just say this: Today a co-worker and I had an awful experience in an elevator. We got stuck, it moved again.. it got stuck again. And from the 5th floor, it dropped to the 1st taking all but 2 seconds of time.
It caused a feeling in my body like no other I have felt—at least not since the earthquake here in the Northeast last summer …
We are ok, of course. I’m walking, talking, typing and hyping. But I’m also eager to use stairs from now on at my place of work and in other walks of life, too.
I get paranoid about things quickly.. and easily. And now, after a startling drop to a near-death I’m ready to keep my feet firmly planted on solid ground—solid as it is without pesky earthquakes that eventually will rattle my nerves again.

This happened to my wrist when I was helping clean my mother-in-law’s house .. An old metal mailbox cut my wrist .. In the most strange of ways. Is this a message from the ‘other side’ telling me to value life? Slow down? Maybe be careful? Or just a message to keep track of when I get tetanus shots since I immediately forgot after the metal diced me up..

Of Monsters and Men— Little Talks
My wife turned me on to this song tonight.. pretty good sound and great words. Like the feeling.
It’s been a rough couple of weeks.. despite the brief reprieve, with the death of my wife’s mom and the gradual cleaning of her house, this song has a little more meaning than it would have otherwise..
Enjoy it, hope you like it.. Good evening all.

Stay tuned …
Looks like the Tumblr platform is going to be giving users some updates, so there may be improvements through that on here.
Also if all pans out correctly, I may be able to get a few interesting interviews with some very interesting people within the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

A moment in time..
My wife’s mom passed away in November.. her house is now sold.. and her home is now empty. My wife Tara said it best on her Facebook page tonight:
After a long day at my mom ‘s house- with some of her possessions in a U-Haul and some in a dumpster…her house is no longer a home. Sad but true. Although, we must keep in mind her home is within our hearts and never forgotten…
Amazingly true.. 80+ years of possessions stuffed in a dumpster or a UHaul, or sold for low prices compared to the original.. A home no longer a home. Now ready for the next occupant. Minus those memories of children laughing, without those nights of voices and hot chicken dinners.
It’s over.
Gone.
Kaput.I suppose we will all be in the same situation one day.. some of us sooner rather than later. We will have our very own possessions rummaged through. People will judge what we had and decide if it should be junked.. trunked.. or dumped.
Life is a whirlwind. It’s gone in a breeze. Hope the breeze for all of you is nice, warm, and comfortable..
The interesting thing to me.. my mother-in-law’s now unoccupied house has a watcher. The past few times I’ve been there, including today, in the distant woods and owl sits present.. watching. And as a freshmen student of the paranormal I do know that some regard owls as the symbol of guardians of the afterlife. I’m ok with that. I need a symbol. Hell, I need anything after today—I need to expunge the guilt of knowing I trashed someone’s personal items.
As the owl looks on…. and the owl today was gone. In the blink of an eye. Just as the last pieces of the home were emptied, I looked again at the woods. Hoping to find my new friend, the owl. He wasn’t there. In his place, an empty branch were he once perched. I suppose we are now on our own. A soul is gliding free to the other realm… as the owl flies.

Downtime: A big sorry to my followers and readers yesterday
Something happened with the entire platform this blog is hosted on, Tumblr, yet again.. Coal Speaker didn’t go away. At least not for more than four hours. But four hours is a lot of down time for a site..
It makes me wonder if Tumblr would be a lot more popular were it not for the breakdowns and meltdowns? I can’t even imagine having a business site making cash through credit card transactions or selling items, but having the prospect of a meltdown just when someone clicks ‘submit.’
For the new year, that will be one thing Tumblr needs to get better at. And once it does, it’s good to go.. everything else including ease and a solid base of users is in place.
We all just need to know that when we tell someone to go to our site they won’t get a “sorry” message along with a note to donate to Japan..

A big ‘stay tuned’
A year in review is coming next week.. My thoughts on 2011.. the best and worst of the year.. the most annoying products of the year..The culture of fear in 2011.. The biggest ass of the year. The person of the year, my CoalSpeaker version.. And even predictions for 2012..
It’s a year tradition to those who follow me on here and to those who have followed me since 2000 when I had the horror-report.com (not HorrorReport.com without the dash)..
It’s been a wild decade. And 12 years in the making of years in review.
I can’t believe just how fast this whole thing called life can sometimes go.. Nonetheless, there is no stopping time. Unless those Mayans were right. In which case we have one year to go… and maybe I will not have to do a 2012 year in review.
Stay tuned..

A quick note to everyone
Thank you followers on Tumblr, Twitter, rss feed fans, and however and wherever else you follow this site at. It’s almost the end of a long year. But a fast year. And thanks for those here since the the beginning of the Coal Speaker in 2010 and the more recent folks who stopped by and stuck around. Truly a pleasure.. Thank you all. So now, Saturday night, stop reading and go out and safely have fun. Unless you’re a parent. Put your child to sleep and …sleep yourself, you need it.
